Jesus Still Reigns Above It All

City Church Family, 

I start this email with a lot of different emotions that are hard to put into words. I feel like we must be at a turning point in our nation. In just the last few weeks, we have seen so much violence. From the shooting in Minnesota, to the stabbing of a beautiful Ukrainian young lady named Iryna Zarutska, and the killing of Charlie Kirk, it seems like our nation is falling apart.

Here at City Church, we say that people matter, because they do! They matter because they are created in the very image of Almighty God. The racial and political hatred must come to an end. As followers of Jesus, we have to show love to others and be a beacon of hope in these dark days. 

Today also marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. Most of us remember exactly where we were when we got the news and how life changed that day. At the same time, I remember the unity and compassion that rose amid this tragedy. 

I am asking you to take time today to sit in silence and listen to what God is saying to your heart. Also, pray for the families who have experienced deep loss. 

Jesus still reigns above it all!
