Carry the Light / Week 2

CC FAM!

As I take some time to reflect on 2025, I am reminded of the countless ways we have seen God move in our church. Between now and December 21, I will be sending a short email each week. I’ll do my best to keep them brief, but it would mean a lot if you would take a few moments to read them.

The purpose of these emails is to:

  1. Share practical details about our Carry the Light offering happening on December 21.

  2. Highlight some of the amazing ways we have been Carrying the Light throughout this past year as a church.

Carry the Light Initiative:

Carry the Light is about how your faithful generosity is maximizing impact to our church, community, and beyond. The Carry the Light Offering will help us do three specific things:

  • ⇒Serve families in need this Christmas

  • ⇒Meet our 2025 budget needs

  • ⇒Plant seeds for next year’s ministry

Our in-person offering will be on December 21, but you can give anytime before then. We are inviting every household to pray and be a part! Here is a simple way to approach this opportunity: Pray… Pause to listen… Respond with courage. Whatever amount God places on your heart to give, please remember our greatest impact happens when everyone joins in together!

This year, we have carried the light by…

Launching Fresh Start: Fresh Start is a weekly gathering for adults seeking community, accountability, and discipleship with people from different backgrounds and challenges. Each gathering has a meal, a large group meeting for worship and reflection, and then smaller groups to experience deeper personal growth. We have truly been blown away at how God is using Fresh Start to help people grow in their spiritual formation.

City Kids: This year, City Kids has been a beautiful reflection of what God is doing in and through our church family. Thanks to your faithful giving and involvement, we have seen countless moments where children and families experienced the love of Jesus in powerful ways. From spiritual milestones to community outreach, your generosity has helped us carry the light and steward our resources with purpose and impact.

Here are some highlights from this year:

  • 3 baptisms as kids publicly declared their faith in Jesus and even more that have professed their faith in Christ.

  • Over 100 kids experienced spiritual growth and fun at Kids Camp.

  • Back-to-School event blessed 60 families with encouragement and resources.

  • Children’s environments were created for 16 Prayer Nights and Family Nights that connected families in worship and prayer.

  • 10 kids were dedicated at Parent-Child Dedication services - building families and legacies for children to be raised with Christian values.

  • 60 families attended our Play Palz event, building friendships among young families.

  • Parents’ Day Out program with 27 families enrolled, some who do not attend church anywhere making it possible to reach new hearts for Christ from an early age.

  • The Palm Sunday Petting Zoo brought the Easter story to life for our children.

  • Our kids made paper prayer chains reflecting faith in action.

  • We brought live worship back to the Elementary room, enjoyed our new playgroundrenovated the Pre-K worship room, and we began teaching in the toddler nursery.

Every number represents a story, and every story reminds us that God is at work through City Kids because of your prayers, your giving, and your partnership in ministry.
