Carry the Light
CC FAM!
What an incredible day we had at church today! There was so much excitement in the air as we experienced God’s presence together. I really think this series on Daniel is going to be great for us all.
Today, we launched our Carry the Light initiative. This initiative is all about faithful generosity and maximizing impact as we wrap up this year. Carry the Light comes from the idea that we are the light of the world, and we, as a church, are called to carry the light into our communities. In Matthew 5:14-16, we read:
You are the world’s light—a city on a hill, glowing in the night for all to see. Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father.
This past year, one of the ways we carried the light is by baptizing 40 people! We also helped fund and pack 10,000 backpacks through the Nehemiah Project. These backpacks were delivered to children throughout our community, and our staff personally delivered some to our friends at Bess T. Shepherd Elementary. These are just a couple examples of how your generosity helps us carry the light to others and fulfill what God has called us to do as a church.
The Carry the Light offering will be collected on December 21. This offering will help City Church accomplish several things:
1. It will allow us to serve those in need in our church during the Christmas season.
2. It will help us meet our budget for 2025.
3. It will help us plant seeds for next year, so we can continue to carry the light to our church, community, and the world.

Let’s do this!
